MHA – May is Mental Health Month

Have you taken a look at Mental Health America’s (MHA) highly anticipated May is Mental Health Month toolkit? With May just around the corner, it has already been downloaded over 2,700 times! This year’s theme, Fitness #4mind4body will address how so much of what we do physically impacts us mentally and how paying attention to both your physical health and your mental health can help you achieve overall wellness or set you on a path to recovery.

The toolkit includes:
•    Fact sheets on gut health, diet, sleep, stress and inflammation, and exercise and how these issues impact mental health;
•    A worksheet on making life changes;
•    A promotional poster;
•    Sample social media posts with images;
•    Web banners;
•    A sample press release;
•    A drop-In article; and
•    A sample proclamation.

New this year! As part of the efforts this May, MHA is asking people to take the #4Mind4Body Challenge and join Mental Health America in challenge all of us each day to make small changes – both physically and mentally – to create huge gains for our overall fitness. Individuals will be encouraged to follow MHA on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram for the challenge of the day and to share their successes by posting with #4Mind4Body. MHA will also have a web page collecting posts with #4Mind4Body for people to see what others are doing as part of the challenge. This page will launch in May.
